Hopefully Kriv is on the phone as we speak...

Brian McCann left Saturday's game in the fourth inning with an apparent left ankle injury.
McCann was bowled over by Eric Byrnes on a collision at home plate and apparently suffered a pretty severe ankle injury. He wasn't putting any weight on the leg as he was helped off. Todd Pratt took over. If McCann needs to go on the DL, the Braves are in a lot of trouble, especially since both Brayan Pena and Jarrod Saltalamacchia have struggled mightily in the minors. Pratt is no longer capable of catching more than a couple of times per week, so the Braves may have to go out and look for for help.

McCann is a heck of a young player. They keep talking about Saltamaccia (sp) being their future behind the plate, but I can see McCann moving to first because he is such a good hitter.

For now, Jason Larue for Joey Devine? :)

Don't Know if they'd spend the money. Time Warner is selling the team and we already saw last year that they preferred to try out their kids than trading for established players.

Braves will probably just bring a minor leaguer up, thats what they did last year when they had all those injuries.

I've been watching McCann for ages - whenever i could on High Heat and MVP, i would trade for the guy, and watch him put up monster numbers.
That said, if the Braves do need a catcher, I am sure they have a pitcher or two we would be interested in.

The luxury of a deep system.
