The Yankees are also expected to sign outfielders Richard Hidalgo (16 HRs for Texas in 2005) and Jason Romano (129 games in the majors, including 19 with Cincinnati last season).

Wow. A casting call for a LF in the Bronx. Go figure. I guess Melky Cabrera is not their savior.

I meant to post this yesterday, they were talking about it on XM. Hidalgo might be useful, Romano....not so much.

Can you get a work release to play MLB?

Sorry, shouldn't have said that.

I wonder if they would be willing to deal Hughes for an outfielder?

Thus endeth the Terence Long experiment? They seem to like Reds castoffs these days. Get on the horn with Cashman about a deal for Dave Williams. Y'know, if DanO and Melvin don't come through.

Wow, Romano, Long, Stratton, I half expect Kenny Kelly and Darren Bragg to show up in the Yankees system any day now.

Are they going to have to pry him out of DanO's cold, dead hands?

Yankees seem desparate to me!

What about Deno for a MLB pitcher..do they have anything extra to send our way for that sort of deal?

Or what about Kearns???? Freel????

I can't believe Dan O' hadn't jumped all over getting Romano in a Brewers uni.

If Pavano came back, Reds probably could've landed Chacon. But not now.

The Yanks are a mess. They've got injuries up the wazoo. Giambi's in a massive slump. ARod disappears for long stretches. Damon's banged up and playing below standards. Randy Johnson seems lost on the mound and they're depending on Jared Wright to win games. Add to that their defense has been below average around the horn.

Their two biggest trading chips are P Philip Hughes (20 yrs old); and Eric Duncan, a 3B who may end up shifting to 1B. I don't know that Kearns would land either.

It's bad at the highest level, but supposedly pretty decent in A & AA.

OH MY LORD NICK GREEN IS A YANKEE NOW.

I LOVE Nick Green. But he was batting a stellar .077 for Tampa Bay before the Yanks picked him up. Ah well, details, details.
