Perhaps... I just hate giving up such great talent like him. But who knows.

Must trade talent to get talent. That's how it works.

I just did a google search on this rumor. Ken Rosenthal suggested it about 3 weeks ago, so that may be how it started.

Willis has pitched ok most of the time this year. He had a couple of bad outings--and Joe "the Junior Genuis" Girardi has left him in way too long on a couple of other occassions.

I like Dontrelle and I'd do the trade for EE even up, but I dont' think the Fish will.

If Willis is being traded, Cabrerra isn't far behind.

Then let's get them both. If Fla is going to have a napalm sale, let's get them both. Cabrera at 3b and batting clean-up in this line-up behind Jr. and ahead of Dunn? With Kearns 6th? Good lord.

So, fine, EE and Bailey and Bruce and Denorfia and something else if need be and just get it done.

Nope - no way should we sell the farm to get short term satisfaction.

Aren't the Marlins trying to get a new stadium. Loria's out sightseeing with potential cities, might this not just be a ruse to get money for a new stadium.

If Cast is serious, he finds the cash. If FLA is going to be that stupid, you step up.

For the record, I don't buy the EE for Willis rumor AT ALL, and think the Marlins will need to hold back Miggy to make the franchise at least a little enticing to potential suitors in San Antonio, Portland or Las Vegas.

No, its not.

Its three runs or less or when the pitcher comes in their are men on base and the tying run is in the on deck circle.

No, its not.

Its three runs or less or when the pitcher comes in their are men on base and the tying run is in the on deck circle. So if Coffey walked the first two guys, then got the hook, the next pitcher would be in line for the save because the tying run would be on the on deck circle while he was pitching to his first batter? Is this right? If it is thanks for correcting me, I was wrong.

Actually it is a save situation, because the tying run can come to the plate.
3 ways to get a save, and in each case you have to get the last out:
1.pitch 3 effective innings;
2.pitch 1 inning with no more than a 3 run lead;
2.the tying run is on base, batting or on deck.

In high school, I got a win and a save without pitching a pitch. I picked the guy off first both times. When I got the win, we won it in the bottom of the last inning. I was a one tool player!!:laugh:

Less than 17,000 paid attendance to night. I certainly hope that the crowds pick up by a large percentage once school is out. This team does tend to be exciting so far this year---both good and bad. :)

Yes, they are real close to having something there. Right now, Coffey following Hammond is going to screw with hitters' timing. And Hammond appears to be effective again after that shaky start. I would make that combo happen a lot more, even on nights when it isn't a four inning bullpen night.
