We need to get Dunn and Lopez in for sure, and possibly Kearns and/or Phillips.

Dunn has been ripped off the last two years. Let's not let that happen a third year in a row.

I think Bronson Arroyo might be the only Red to make it.

Junior might get voted in on his name, though.

I give Coffey an outside chance of making the team, esp. if he keeps a <1.00 ERA.

He won't make it with his number of saves. Unless you play for the Yankees, middle relievers aren't all stars.

Lopez has a decent shot -- he was an All-Star last season and got some good press for being the NL's best hitting SS.

Ummmm, it's a bit difficult to get saves when you are not the closer. Therefore, why would he be considered a closer by the All-Star committee?

That's exactly what I'm saying. He doesn't have the saves (because he's not the closer), therefore he probably won't make it.

I just did one. It's nice that they have the "compare" tab handy. The stats available aren't overly helpful, but they give you a glimpse.

Justin Duchscherer, 2005.

Since the games "mean something" now, managers might start to surprise people by taking quality middle relievers over closers.
