Strikes Out Looking
05-26-2006, 06:20 PM
Why is Larue sitting? With Ramirez in the rotation, shouldn't he be catching Uncle Milty? And doesn't Jerry Narron have any concern for my fantasy team? (Larue is my catcher and I didn't bench him because I thought he'd catch tonight).

I have this strange feeling we're gonna rake Webb around the yard tonight.

LaRue 0 for 5 4Ks vs. Webb
Valentin 2 for 9 3 BB vs. Webb

That's why. Narron always checks the matchups.

He hasn't been playing well since April, and to top it off he has made countless stupid baserunning decisions.

Since he gets into maybe one or two games a week, I don't expect him to play like he did at the beginning of the season..

How would Griffey, Phillips, or anyone else play if they saw action as sporatic as Freel does?

Realistically, given the pitching matchup, what are our chances out of the gate today--40%? 35%?

The steals have been replaced by Phillips and Lopez, plus the defense is better with Phillips.

So far he's not missed.

Almost everybody in this lineup has struggled mightily this month, and yet the guy who came dangerously close to setting a new team record for rbi's in the month of April seems to be recieving the brunt of the blame. I don't have a lot of complaints about Narron right now, but that is a big one. If Edwin has hitters around him, he will hit as well.

Reds go in order in the first. Phillips and Griffey couldn't lay off the nasty sinker.

If the ball starts out at the knees against Webb, don't swing. Chances are it will cross home plate at the ankles or below. That sinker is filthy.

Webb had walked 8 batters this year before this game. That's less than 1 per start.

Byrnes is up - 1st pich swinging and sends a long foul ball down the left field line... Dunn gives it a good chase but the ball lands in the seats. Milton throws a good change up and he flies out to Lopez in short center.

Tracey up, and Milton pumps in a 90 mph heater on the ouside of the plate for strike one. Tracey now chases a pitch low in the dirt and fouls it off for strike 2. Now Milton is up 0-2 and Milton sends the ball high. Milton then throws a nice 89 mph heater on the outside of the plate to get Tracey to strike out swinging.

Milton 4k's through 3.

Edwin, Milton, Lopez due up.
