Sarasota still up 4-0 through 3 1/2 innings. Vazquez is dealing so far today. Dont have the statline, the Twins broadcaster is bad about saying what it is.

Heading into the 5th inning, Reds ontop still 4-0. Adam Rosales gidp to end the inning. Hot shot up the middle, but the pitcher snagged it.

I am switching over from the Sarasota Reds game to the Dayton Dragons game. Vazquez currently has runners on the corners with 2 outs in the 5th inning. He gets a ground out to second. He allowed 2 hits, but no runs came of it.
If anyone wants to listen to the Dayton Dragons game you can go to www.daytondragons.com and stream the game in the bottom right corner of the website.

Jay Bruce is hitting second today, behind BJ Szymanski who is hitting lead off. BJ struck out on 3 pitches. Jay smashed a double off the wall.

Three balls hit to JD Reininger. He retired 2 of the 3. Stolen base moves the runner to 3rd base. Pop up to BJ Szymanski ends the inning.
Tie game 0-0 between the Dragons and Silver Hawks.

Thanks guys, keep the updates coming.

Camilo Vazquez, 5ip, 5 hits, 1bb, 6 k, 0 runs.
Paul Janish is 2-3 with an RBI.
Reds lead 4-0.
05-27-2006, 07:48 PM
Dragons go down 1-2-3 in the second.
Camilo Vazquez is now through 6 innings, 5 hits, 1bb and 6 k's. No runs. Season ERA is down to 2.98 now.

Travis Wood gets a dribbler to Dejesus at second for the first out of the 2nd inning.
Wood jumps ahead 1-2 on the #2 hitter of the inning before missing with a fastball to even the count up at 2-2. Wood drops in a curve but misses low. Wood throws another curve that is fouled off. Mercado hits one off the wall, that is then kicked by Josh Holden, but Mercado is held to a double.
Wood induces a pop up on the infield for the second out of the inning.
Wood seems to be just missing the zone with his curveball tonight. Walks the #8 hitter in the line up after missing on back to back curve balls.
Mike Dejesus boots a ground ball and it costs the Dragons a run.
SilverHawks lead 1-0.
Wood gets a pop up to first base to end the inning.
SilverHawks score on an error and lead 1-0 after 2 innings.

JD Reininger leads off the 3rd with a single for the Dragons.
Josh Holden strikes out.
BJ Szymanski strikes out on a slider to make the second out of the inning.
Jay Bruce made an out....dont know how, but it ended the inning.
down in Sarasota, the Reds are now leading 6-0 after 6. Brandon Roberts had his 2nd RBI of the night.
05-27-2006, 08:21 PM
In Sarasota, the Reds now lead 8-0 in the 7th inning.
05-27-2006, 08:30 PM
Travis Chick throws a 1-2-3 first inning with a strikeout.
In that game, the pitching matchup is Chick vs Chico.
05-27-2006, 08:49 PM
Chico is the man....
05-27-2006, 09:12 PM
Nice to see Wood do well without his best stuff tonight.
05-27-2006, 10:49 PM
Two out of three ain't bad (wood and Vazquez - good , just chick with the bad start).
05-27-2006, 11:09 PM
I wonder when the Chick transfer is going to come. He shows he can strike people out on this level, but when you only have a 4 seamer and a inconsistant slider, you get predictable and beat around. Pelland probably isn't far behind.
05-27-2006, 11:17 PM
I think Chick and Pelland have better stuff than Shafer and Medlock and while I am hopeful they can be starter, I am curious to see how their stuff would work in 1-2 inning stints (you would have to think their velocity would increase to maybe mid 90s - now that would be nice to add to Coffey, Belisle and whatever..)

Robert Manuel pitched relief for the Dragons today.
2 2/3 Innings, 2 Hits, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Did anyone see him pitch?
Just wondering because I havent found a scouting report on him.

In other news, Brewers up and coming prospect 2B Hernan Iribarren was caught with a corked bat (http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=g_wra&gid=2006_05_27_dbcafa_breafa_1) in today's Daytona/Brevard County game.
