They are REALLY REALLY bad. If we lose either one of these series, I'm calling it a year.

I don't like catching a team that is on a losing streak or has lost 8 out of 9 etc. They are due to win a series.

They've been playing awful baseball lately. The 15-33 Marlins have 26.7% of their wins (4) against the Cubs. The 26-24 Padres have 27% of their wins (7) against the Cubs. They've lost 6 straight. They had an eight game losing streak earlier in the month. They're 5-21 in May.

Adding onto that, Kerry Wood is still nowhere near 100%, Mark Prior was likely eaten by a bear, and Derrek Lee won't be back until mid-June at the earliest.

I mean, cripes, Dusty started Tony Womack and Neifi Perez today. I'm surprised the resulting black hole of sucktitude didn't cause Wrigley to implode.

The Cubs may suck, but they just pounded the crap out of John Smoltz today.

The Reds should beat the Cubs, but the Cubs may go all antisocial on this club's pitching. And the way this offense has been struggling to average 1.2 runs a game* (*exaggeration for effect--sometimes called hyperbole--but still uncomfortably close to the truth so as to create a nervous titter) this May, well, let's just say, I'd be cautious in my optimism.

Nothing like the ''friendly confines''of the Windy city to spark a Reds run scoring frenzy.Weather calls for the wind to be blowing out.(i hope):dunn: :griffey:

Your title is a little misleading since we have 7 games against them in the next 14 days.

Just sayin

Could be a rainout.

Expecting to go 7-0 against a team over the next two weeks is too much. Even the bad teams win games now and then.

Maybe not. The Cubs are current on a 0-6 roll, they lost 8 in a row 3 weeks ago, and have lost over 20 games in May so far. Hopefully, they don't stop now!

Kerry Wood has been doing so bad that I have not yet removed him from the DL on my fantasy team (I always wait at least one game anyway).

Just watch, he'll be Cy Young out there today because I said that.
