:) To the best of my knowledge, the 1985 Reds are the only team to have as many as 7 players on their roster at some point in the season that had 2,000 or more hits in their career. Rose - 4256, Perez - 2732, Parker - 2712, Bell - 2514, Concepcion - 2326, O'Neill - 2105, and Cedeno - 2087. I've found teams with 6 (1982 Red Sox, 1992/93 Blue Jays) but none with 7. Perhaps an old time team did it. Does anyone know if the '85 Reds are alone in this area?

1927 and 28 Philadelphia A's both had 6

1900 Dodgers had 5, and 10 guys with 1500 hits or more.

Sometime this year the 2004 Yankees should have 7.

I didn't realize Davey ended up with that many hits - almost the same total as Larkin.
I had thought that he went to spring training one year with the Angels (after the Reds released him) to try to get to 2000 hits & improve his HOF chances, but I was obviously wrong about that. Did he go to spring training with the Angels?
(And sorry I can't help with the topic, but thanks for posting such an interesting question)

Yes, he did go to spring training with the Angels, but hung it up before the season started.
