It just wouldnt be a Reds season without a topic about Jeff Shaw. He is just 39, wonder if he is still keeping in shape? I am sure he can still bring it harder then Hammond.

Ahh the annual where is Jeff Shaw thread. A crowd pleaser. I hope he is enjoying his retirement and not watching any this bullpen. I wouldn't wish that on him. I always liked him.

What about Rijo? I think he might have something left in the tank.

We have enough pitcher's in the bullpen with duct tape holding them together. Don't need another.

Jeff Shaw, last Reds pitcher to lead the team in Win Shares.

Scary thing is I'd rather have Shaw or Rijo out on the mound at their current age and ability level then some of the arms currently in the pen. At least, even if they stunk, I could entertain myself with thoughts of how they were once successful major league pitchers. That cannot be said by some of the guys in the pen.

John Riedling, BJ Ryan, CJ Nitkowski, Trevor Hoffman, John Wetteland. This one goes out to all the Reds relievers we took for granted in the past and traded. Fare ye well... remember me! A new dawn is here.

Funny, I wrote in a post on RP help and mentioned Shaw, but alas I was joking! :)

What ever happened to this guy.... Paul Wilson? How much are we paying this guy this year to not play?:wilson:

How about a guy who's already in the Reds' dugout - Tom Hume? Would he be the first reliever/interim pitching coach ever? ;)

I put in a call to Tom Seaver and Rolly Eastwick. See if there's any interest.

Since we're going through Reds pitchers of the past, I also thought I'd call Chris Hammond, and then I realized he actually WAS with the team.

Someone called the Tracy Jones show on Sunday asking about Jeff Shaw. Tracy said, he saw him a few weeks ago and said Jeff is in very good condition.
