And Isiah Thomas has been named head coach.

Wonder if Larry could end up in Miami if Pat decides to retire? (again)

I don't think there is anyone in sports who has had a stranger career than Larry Brown. So many stops and so many burned bridges. I don't think he ever leaves a job on good terms, and yet he never sits idle for very long waiting for the next job.

Even in this case, the Knicks wanted him gone so bad that they filled his pockets with cash before they showed him the door.

I'm a Knicks fan...unfortunately.

This whole thing is an embarrasing disaster. The only "good" to come of this is that Isiah can sink or swim with the disaster of a roster that he's assembled. Larry walks away w/$40M.

Dolan needs to sell the team to someone with a clue, or to someone who'll but out of the basketball operation.

Well *that* didn't work out very well. The Knicks are as dysfunctional of a team as you will find in the NBA. Stupid signings, stupid trades, awful contracts, bad mix of players, brain-dead management, etc etc.

Isiah as coach. That's funny. That sound you just heard was the collective wrist-slashing of Knicks fans across the country.

The one's who still care. :bang:

Bulls fans across America would like to extend their gratitude towards Isaiah for giving the Bulls a terrific chance to draft Greg Oden in next year's NBA draft.

Hmm. I guess they're not paying Brown. At least not yet.

Knicks Fire Brown, Refusing to Pay Out Contract

Yet Dolan's disenchantment went far beyond the poor results on the court, and he ultimately fired Brown for a number of other transgressions. The Knicks, contending that Brown violated several provisions of his contract, fired him "for cause," and thus do not intend to pay him the balance of his contract, in excess of $40 million.

Under terms of Brown's contract, a five-year deal, he can appeal the team's decision to withhold his pay. Commissioner David Stern will ultimately decide the issue.

Don't forget swapping Eddy Curry with Andrea Bargani or Tyrus Thomas.

Commissioner David Stern will ultimately decide the issue.I think a court might "ultimately" trump David Stern if Larry doesn't like Stern's decision. There's a contract here, the terms and enforceability of which the courts can weigh in on.

That's just the icing on the cake.

I'm hoping for T2 or a trade for a strong low post presence.

Yeah, I'm really skeptical about "cause" in this instance.
