View Full Version : Would Elizardo Ramirez be eligible for ROY?

I know its something like less than 50 innings pitched or less than 45 days on a major league roster. Coming into the season, he met the innings, with just 37.1 innings. Does anyone know if he was on a roster for less than 45 days though? I would assume so with just 13 games, but only 4 starts, but it seems like it could be cutting it close. So does anyone know?

Pitchers lose their rookie status if they have pitched 50 or more innings in any previous season or if they spent more than 45 days on the active roster.
Elizardo had 64 days of Major League service during 2005, according to the Reds Media Guide. So he's ineligible.

Even if he would be eligible, as much as I would like to see him win it, I really doubt that he would, especially with some of the seasons some other rookies in the NL are posting.

Oh, I didnt think he had a chance, but I was more so wondering if he still had "rookie" status or not.

He would be up against 3/4 of the Marlins team anyway!
