Reputation points question?

I know that if you have accumulated over 200 points that you can give reputation pointsfor qualtity posts, but is there a maximum number of points you can give out on any single day or week? What about negative points, is there a limit also, and can anyone give negative points?

You are allowed to give 2 reps (positive or negative, or any combination thereof) in a 24 hour period. Your rep point value is based on your own rep points, and # of posts, I believe. The negative rep value is 1/2 of your positive rep value.

I'm not sure of the exact formula, but my rep "power" is currently 14.

I have 16834 posts, and 848 rep points, FWIW.

If I give someone positive rep points, they get 14 points. If I neg someone, I neg them -7.

yeah, just multiply by 2 after you see how many points my total goes down.

Don't forget that step. ;)

FWIW-I have over 4000 posts and a rep of 524 and my rep points given is 6.

I have had people give me as much as 20 and as few as negative 5.

Obviously, the higher your rep, the higher points you can give out.
