After last night, Mauer is hitting .392, and he's just been getting better as the year's gone on. Certainly it is hard to believe that he can keep it up all year and finish hitting over .400, but it would be fun to watch him try. How good is this kid?

He's been pretty unbelievable, but he's a catcher so it's unlikely that he'll be able to keep this up. Catchers always wear down late in the year.

They should have him switch positions imediately. The Twins decision to draft "local boy" Mauer over Mark Prior is looking better and better.

No reason for him to switch just yet, is there? He's 23 years old and one of the best defensive catchers in the game. He's got some years left behind the plate before the wear and tear becomes an issue, and by then, who knows if he's still a Minnesota Twin. No sense preserving his longevity for the Yankees' benefit. :D

Besides, he plays in the DH league, they can give him his days off without taking his bat out of the lineup.
