It's my understanding that the Cincy management DELIBERATELY starts Saturday evening games early to ensure that they don't get picked-up by MLB Extra innings.
Why in the hell would they do that?

That would be ridiculous. And I would seriously consider not getting the EI package next season if true.
The Saturday time was suppose to allow more families/kids to attend since it's a weekend and less people work on Saturdays. I don't think Cincinnati management figured in the MLB Extra Innings package at all and they certainly didn't think about Cincinnati in late July and August with the high humidity and heat. A later start time on hot days might bring more people out, not less.

Based on a post from this message board a couple of weeks ago when I posed essentially the same question. I'll try to find it.

I highly doubt that. The game is on locally in Cincy anyway.
