2 catchers

Like a normal team

If they DL Ross to make room for Ramirez, how many pitchers does that give them, 13? That's absurd, although I think 12 is too many as well. I think I'd lose Mays for Ramirez and then call up another catcher so Javy can be the LH bench guy. Pains me to say that.

How about 11 pitchers next?

Since JN does not use them all anyways.....it is a waste to have 12.

I think a dl move for Ross would be the best thing. We get the roster room for the Lizzard and he gets a chance to rehab and do a rehab assignment to get his hitting stroke back. It also gives Larue the chance to increase his trade value. The Reds could always make multiple roster moves to balance pitching with position players.

It would be 12. The Reds are currently carrying 11 pitchers. I agree with you--12 is too many, in my opinion. Actually, I would like to work toward 10 pitchers, but I know that will never happen.

I would drop Mays to make room for Ramirez, and then I would call up Olmedo when Ross goes on the DL.

They put him on the DL on day 14

OK, I was thinking they were already carrying 12 without doing a head count. Duh.

In that case Ross would still have to spend five days on the DL. A player can placed on the disabled list retroactively up to ten days.

This is a smart move. This gets the roster spot for Rameriz and gives Ross a chance to heal and do a rehab assignment. This also gives Larue a chance to improve his trade value.

The Reds are so desperate for pitching they are calling up pitchers from A ball, oh wait a second never mind. ;)
