Dom, I'm going to go with one that's not on your list: The Sky Galley at Lunken Municipal

Just need to mention... Esther Price is a Dayton thing! Esther was a Daytonian who founded the company in Dayton. She sold the company in 1976 to four Cincinnati businessmen, but the company still claims Dayton as home.

Not a lot of great things in Dayton these days, so we have to take credit for the few things we have!

:)

I went w/ Grater's Ice Cream!

I was going to mention this, but you beat me to it. I mentioned elsewhere that I talked to Esther on the phone once when she was calling to check on the whereabouts of a 5000 lbs. shipment of cocoa. I was like, "you're the real Esther Price???".

I voted LaRossa's

Skyline is a given, so that is why I voted as such.

I travel for my job, and I find it hard to get good pizza that is not pizzahutpapajohnsdominos etc...

Too much LaRossa's can be a very bad thing, it gets old FAST. When you only have it a couple of times a year it makes it much better!

Every year, the day after a Buffett concert. My buddies and I go to GOLD STAR CHILI. It is a great hang over meal! We are all from the Columbus area so it is a big treat for us.

When my in-laws order it in for the whole crew they get me my own from Dominicks. I get Jalepeno's on it and no one touches it.

I vote for the City View Lounge on Mt. Adams.

Once, I went there with take out from Skyline, and I bought a Hudy, listened to the Reds on Radio and shot the bull with the locals while gazing into the city skyline.

That was an evening.

I hear ya, Heath. The best hang out in the city, period. I closed that place many a time back in the day.

You guys are reminding me of sitting outside with the radio on listening to the Reds game.

Esasky, Davis and when I was younger Morgan and Bench and Pete.

Lightning bugs, my dad's farm, the smell of summer in the air and the ability to hop in the car and pick up some White Castles at will.

To be young again... :)

We used to go to Montgomery Inn the day after Buffett until it burned down. They had a lot of Reds memorabilia there.

My real favorite thing to do in Cincinnati has nothing to do with the food there, but involves nothing more then driving on the back country roads of the far east side in the summer at night. Until you've lived outside of the midwest in river country you can't imagine how different summer nights are elsewhere. Not worse, not better, just different

I guess I missed this poll, but Skyline would have been my vote. I miss a lot of those things, but Cincinnati Chili is the only one that has no reasonable substitute available elsewhere. So GoldStar would be second, and Empress third if it still exists. I know where the Gold Star is in Athens, Ohio is and make my route go through there just so I can have Cheese Coneys 2 or 3 hours sooner.

The ultimate was the year my little brother got us luxury box seats at GAB for a Reds game and they catered Skyline Cheese Coneys into the box! It was pretty much how I imagined heaven, except for the drunk guy in the box next to us who decided heckling the ground crew would be cool. What a sad spectacle.

Just to save you the trip, the gold star in Athens is no more
