I know a lot of people claim to have Source's and post trade rumors. My question is who are the reliable ones and and which rumor came true?
Enquiring minds gotta know.

Big Donkey was one I think. Brooklyn Red I think just to name two off the top of my head.

I don't claim to have a source, but where I work we had a drug overview program to introduce our new drug policy. The father of Rockies pitcher Aaron Cooke was one of the guys introducing the program and he has a picture of his son in a slide show. He said that his son told him, after his contract is up, that he's going to try and work out a deal with the Reds so he can "come back home" or something. Thought that was interesting.

Big Donkey was pretty darn credible. Marc D was on the money a few times.

At the same time. The trades that have gone down, I don't remember any rumors of those trades until the bomb was dropped.

some people get their rumors from the newspapers and say they have "sources."

Brooklyn Redz is very credible and obviously has some inside knowledge. There are others as well, but not many.

He does want to pitch for the Reds. I have been told that by one of his best friends... I think he has a 3 year contract...

FWIW, many of the people with the best sources probably aren't going to tell us who those sources are, lest they lose those people as sources... and as friends. ;)

That's most likely true. I once spoke with the media relations manager for the Akron Aeros. They had to let go of a guy once because they found out he was leaking information about trades and call-ups for the Indians on internet message boards. Some organizations don't like it too much when that information leaks out before they announce it to the media.

My Father-in-law grew up with the father of the man who used to manager Riverfront Stadium for years. Even though this gentleman no longer manages any facility in Cincy, he still has close ties within the Reds and the Bengals.

As a source, he is running about 1 out 3. In other words, he gets information but since I am 4 or 5 stps removed, I have no way of knowing how accurate it is....so I pass it along if it seems it would interest this board.

I will point out that my source had Kearns and EdwinE and Wagner going to another team as early as June 1. My source also relayed that Lopez was a substitute because Bowden wouldn't part with Zimmerman. So, I call my source correct on this one.
