The Mets have made a move they will hope will boost their suddenly lackluster rotation, sending outfielder Xavier Nady to the Pirates for left-hander Oliver Perez and reliever Roberto Hernandez, sources have told SI.com.

Now thats an interesting move right there. A reliever for now, and a possible pitcher for the future.

Does this mean Miledge will be replacing Nady. Terrible deal for the Pirates though. Littlefield should be run out of town on a rail.

I wonder if the Pirates wanted to dump Perez's salary?

Ah, but those are the Pirates, and they're expected to make idiotic deals.

wow - great trade for the Mets. If they can fix Perez, wow.

Rumor has it that the Mets will look to move Perez to a 3rd team. One possibility, San Diego. They could package Oliver Perez and Heath Bell to the Padres for Scott Linebrink, which will help them with the loss of Duaner Sanchez.
