Per Marc's blog:

Lohse will start Saturday

Well, it's official. Kyle Lohse will get the ball Saturday afternoon against the Braves. There's nothing wrong with Brandon Claussen physically, it's strictly a "baseball decision," according to Narron.

Claussen's rehab clock runs out next week, and he says he feels fine, so it'll be interesting to see what they do with him. He said no one has approached him about the possibility of sliding into a long-relief role.

He also thinks he pitches well and efficiently when he walks guys and gets his head kicked in, so who knows.

Well, I guess we were impressed with his one inning of line drive work last night.

The biggest problem is the fact that we probably have no better option.....

Yes, I hear you, Homer fans, but I don't think that he is quite ready yet at 20 years old.....

Who do we use though, if Lohse is a failure??

Standrige?
Belisle (when healthy)?

We really needed to pick up a quality arm at the deadline that could go out when needed and throw 5 or 6 decent innings.....unfortunately IMO, I don't think we got it in Lohse.....

He manages a baseball team. Aren't they all "baseball decisions?"

I don't think it really matters. Neither option is all that appealing. Might as well let the new guy take a shot at it.

Marvin Lewis talks about the Bengals executing "football plays"

There must be some overlap I haven't discovered yet...

And golf announcers applaud an excellent "golf shot." I have yet to figure out what other kind of shot there is in golf.

I just hope that Lohse doesn't allow a lot of "baseball runs."

I'd rahter have Loshe start the Claussen.

Good move.

If they wanted him to start on Saturday then he probably shouldnt have pitched that inning last night.

Maybe making a hockey decision would add some flavor to a baseball game.

It's like playing Royce at SS everyday.

I predicted 8+ starts for Lohse at the time of trade.

If you have to choose something, I also agree that Loshe is a better option than Claussen. Getting killed at AAA is a little scary, at least Loshe did well there. I know, it was because he was stinking it up at the MLB level, but what the hell else is there to go on? I think the best option is probably Belisle, but you can't give him advance notice, he thrives on finding out just hours before the game.

We've seemed to have reached the point with this team where all we can do is hope for the best.

You just posted the offer 4 minutes ago. Give it some time. I'm sure someone will be able to use them.

if someone offered me orioles (as bad as they are) tickets or 2006 superbowl champion redskins tickets, it wouldnt take me 4 minutes to make an offer.

Start a new thread saying you have tickets available. People looking for tickets probably aren't going to be looking in a thread about Lohse.

Well, it's official. Kyle Lohse will get the ball Saturday afternoon against the Braves. .

Not really a surprise. After getting Rheal, it was pretty easy to guess that Louse was acquired to be a starter, despite what the press said.

Worth a shot, I guess, considering we have no other options, but I wish Wayne could've gotten a better #5 starter.

Oh well, I guess we're already spotting the Braves one win in the series.

I've been offered O's tickets and turned them down.

of course, it meant going with the managing partner of my firm, and I can think of better ways to spend my time.

"Yes sir, that sure was a great play sir. What's that? Oh, no, I love Angelos sir. Best thing that's ever happened to this team, yes indeed."

Im all for cross checking KL as he heads to the mound in the first.
