I was very pleased to see that St. Louis continued their losing streak on Friday night (8 games). I decided to look up their stats for the past 7 days. Is this the real Cardinals or are they going to turn it around and take off in the central? I have little reason to believe that St. Louis can win the central division with the poor numbers they have been putting up. The Cardinals have hit only 2 home runs in the last 7 days.

Here's the skinny:

St. Louis Cardinals Last 7 days

David Eckstein (25 PA) .208/.240/.208/.448 0 SB 1 RBI 1 BB 0 XBH
Albert Pujols (23 PA) .273/.304/.318/.622 0 HR 0 RBI 1 BB 1 SB 1 XBH
Scott Rolen (23 PA) .318/.333/.545/.878 0 HR 5 RBI 1 BB 4 XBH
Juan Encarnacion (21 PA) .200/.200/.238/.438 0 HR 2 RBI 1 BB 0 XBH
Chris Duncan (20 PA) .278/.350/.611/.961 1 HR 3 RBI 2 BB 3 XBH
Jim Edmonds (19 PA) .250/.368/.375/.743 0 HR 2 RBI 3 BB 2 XBH
Yadier Molina (17 PA) .077/.278/.077/.355 0 HR 3 RBI 4 BB 0 XBH
Ronnie Belliard (13 PA) .091/.231/.091/.322 0 HR 1 RBI 2 BB 0 XBH
Scott Spiezio (11 PA) .100/.182/.100/.282 0 HR 0 RBI 1 BB 0 XBH
Aaron Miles (11 PA) .444/.545/.778/1.323 1 HR 2 RBI 2 BB 1 XBH
So Taguchi (8 PA) .143/.250/.143/.393 0 RBI 1 BB 0 XBH

This bunch has scored a grand total of 20 runs in 7 days (6 games). Their leadoff hitter has not scored a run in a week and has only 5 total bases during that time. The Cardinals have stolen only 1 base in 6 games. The guy they are trying to replace has been their best hitter.

The Reds should be in the division lead by now, IMO. Now is the time for the Reds to get hot and hope that St. Louis continues to play poorly. The Reds can win the division.

Which MLB team has only scored a grand total of 18 runs in that same 7-day period (6 games)?

The Cincinnati REDS.
