The new TV deal with Fox FSNOhio has been announced:

Not much detail except that it is for 145 games next year and covers "an extended period" supposedly with much more money to the Reds maybe as much as $10 million a year additional. Guess they consider the details propietary info.

They said on the game last night it was a 12 year deal, with THIS YEAR being year #1.

I've heard estimates for as much as 14 million MORE a year in revenue, but I can't confirm it.

That sounds like a nice deal. I'm glad I have a satelite so I get FSN. The problem is I rarely get to watch the dish since I still live at home.

Does 14 million more in revenue mean someone other than JTM paid for advertising?

Oh, I hope so. It seems every waking moment, I am hearing the words "more more more" over and over in my head.

I think the more games just ended my subscription to EI.

Add in the TBS stuff, the WGN stuff, I'll have plenty to watch.

Not much detail except that it is for 145 games next year  And everybody wonders why attendance at GABP is flat? Here it is, folks.

I don't subscribe to the theory that putting games on TV hurts attendance, that was something baseball used to say about radio as well.

It's free advertising

I' still haven't seen the Reds in HD. My chance might have been this Thursday (if ESPN actually does the game in HD) but I'll be at the game. Maybe I should stay home....

The hardest problem with catching the ESPN hd telecast is that FSN usually has the game and it is blacked out.

Actually, TBS will be showing more games starting next year. In 2007, they're going to start showing a Sunday afternoon Game of the Week. They're also going to be showing the Divisional Series starting next year as well. They'll lose the Braves after the end of the 2007 season, but they'll continue to show the Division Series and the Sunday afternoon Game of the Week through 2013.

"It has yet to be determined who would carry the other League Championship Series. It could go to ESPN, TBS, or yet another network such as OLN."

Isn't that the hunting and fishing channel?

Basically, they also had the NHL and Tour de France. The NHL coverage was pretty good.
