Didn't see this discussed but I think Narron deserves some credit for letting Clayton hit last night vs. calling him back and sending Hatteberg up in the 8th.

Conventional wisdom says you pinch hit Hatteberg but Garner would have brought the lefty in and pulled Qualls out. You might say you like our chances better with Hatteberg vs. lefty? more so than Clayton vs. Qualls. But the game situation was such that Qualls was on the ropes, 4 hits plus a homerun. He was obviously struggling and Narron's decision to let Clayton hit put Garner in a position to choose between bringing in Lidge with a tie game or leave a struggling Qualls in the game. Good move Jerry!

this was a confidence booster for Clayton that didn't backfire for Narron. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.
But saying all that, the manager has to worry about confidence, and we don't!

good call, but its "atta boy", not "at a boy", that sounds like he doesnt belong in the locker room with the guys.... :)
