What Cincinnati Red hit the "25 mile home run"?

Was that Tony Perez in the 75' Series?

Was it Wally Post? I seem to remember a story about hitting a home run out of Crosley Field that landed on a truck driving past the ball park.

Wrong era. This was much earlier. This ball literally traveled 25 miles.

I thought it was when Perez hit the home run over the green monster and the ball landed in the back of a truck.

Close. Right scenario wrong name. He is older than Post. Old enough to have played baseball in Brooklyn.

Duke Snider?

Duke Snider? Sorry, I got carried away with the Brooklyn reference.

Duke Snider?

No, but this player is also a Hall of Famer. His lifetime batting average is .306 and he once hit .342 for the season to win the NL batting title.

This isn't the real answer you were looking for because the ball went 1,300 miles not 25 and he is certainly not a Hall of Famer: Bernie Carbo: "I hit the longest home run at Crosley Field that's ever been hit," recalled Carbo, laughing. "I hit it off of Joe Sparma onto I-75. It landed in a truck, and traveled 1,300 miles down to Tampa!"

I hadn't heard the Bernie story. The guy I am talking about also caught the only two back to back no hitters ever thrown by a pitcher.

Lombardi?

Bingo! He hit one out to center field that landed in a truck that traveled 25 more miles before stopping.

Thanks Cicero, that was fun!
By the way, if you put: "longest home run" + crosley field + carbo into google, you will get the entire story about the Carbo Home Run and more information about our Reds' first draft pick, Bernie Carbo.

Methinks Bernie Carbo needs to learn some geography. Tampa is only about 950 miles from Cincinnati. Even Miami's only about 1150 miles.
