- The Reds are now 67-65 with 30 games remaining.....3.5 games out
- A year ago today they were 62-70.........................22 games out
- So they are 5 wins better today than a year ago....but 18.5 games better in the standings.

Also...
On June 8th they were 36-24
Since June 8th they are 31-41

If we were just playing .500 beyond June 8th.....

There's not much else to say or think about... We absolutely have to play above our heads the next 30 games or we're out of the playoffs... I say 18-12gets us in, which would put us at 85-78... We need to start tonight against Maddux and continue in San Diego, they arent that great... Goodness they have Todd Walker hitting 3rd and Branyan 5th... We can still win the Wildcard!

Alot of that has to do with Arroyo. He was like Cy Young up to June then after that became very human and very hittable. If Bronson and Lohse can string together some great pitching performances through Sept and we can find a pitcher who can keep us in the game(alot like Milton does) as the 5th pitcher, we can still win the division. If not we may say goodbye to the division and the wild card. We shall sell sea shells by the shore until then..

We need to end the season like we started it. ;)

But if whether we make it or not, the glaring weaknesses of this club are very evident, and it will be interesting to see how they are addresed in the off-season.

Interesting stat Matt. When you look at it the Reds are only +5 in the win column from this time last year. Because the NL has many .500 and the Reds are still in the hunt it makes it appear as though the Reds are having a much better season than last year.
