He was pitiful today giving up only 1 earned run. :bang:

He wasn't going anywhere but San Diego. BTW he was not a FA, so there was not an opportunity to "sign" him.

Anyone have any numbers on how he hits with runners in scoring position?

Do you really wish the Reds had given up someone like Joey Votto or Jay Bruce for five starts from David Wells?

Well hes not a catcher or a crappy middle reliever...why would Krivsky want him?

He's not worth what it would have taken to get him. Probably would have had to kick in some cash to get him to play in Cincy.

They gave up their number two prospect to get him. This is one where I'm glad Kriv passed. Could you imagine the outcry of "overpaid" if WK gave up Votto or Bruce for Wells?

No kidding. And he'd be overpaying for a handfull of starts before Wells retired at the end of the year. Assuming they'd even be good starts anyway.

For those of you who think Kriv operates out of desperation please keep this non-trade in mind. Kriv was in middle of a disasterous road trip but he didn't flinch and overpay.

Absolutely not.

He's on his way out anyway. He actually didn't pitch that well against the Reds; they just didn't score after getting on base.

I wish our pitchers could make other teams do that...

I don't think that can be attributed to Wells pitching. Like I said, it wasn't stellar, though it's tough to tell that on this board.

Pitching out of jams could be considered stellar.
