(Excerpts)
PORTLAND, Oregon (AP) -- When Susan Kuhnhausen returned home from work one day earlier this month, she encountered an intruder wielding a claw hammer. After a struggle, the 51-year-old nurse fended off her attacker by strangling him with her bare hands.

Neighbors praised the woman for her bravery, and investigators said they believed the dead man -- Edward Dalton Haffey -- was burglarizing Kuhnhausen's home.

But after an investigation, police now say the intruder Kuhnhausen strangled was apparently a hit man hired by her estranged husband -- Michael James Kuhnhausen Sr. -- to kill her.

The 58-year-old husband was taken into custody Thursday and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and attempted murder. He was ordered held on $500,000 bail....

Haffey had worked as a custodian under Kuhnhausen at an adult video store...

Make me think of "Pulp Fiction"... Travolta, Willis, crapper, gun in kitchen.

Good ending to a bad thing IMO. Weird? Yes. Worst hit"man(?)" ever? No doubt about it.

Just another shoddy criminal who's been to Fantasy Video, like the others I assume he's not too bright. This womans house is about 3 miles from Pedros, 6 from mine... right near Flying Pie Pizza, best pie in PDX.

Why are there still adult video stores? Isn't everything on the internet?

Actually, there is a nasty ass porn theatre up the street from my house and from the looks of the sorry bastards that I see coming in and out of there I'm not sure they even know about the internet.

thankfully, the property is becoming too valuable and I bet it's gone in a year or so.

Portland has a long history as a "Wild Town" especially pre Vegas, thus there was/is a plethora of red light businesses still, very O'Farrell Theater, it has something to do with lax city laws regarding that world... very Mob backed, in its time. It's changing... but I think the strip club to church ratio is kind a high.

Maybe you get that tool Stephen Baldwin to hang outside so he can judge people in his spare time like he does in L.A.

He has gone a little "off kilter" hasn't he? My buddy worked on a video shoot with him last year and said he was kind of creepy.

Wonder what he thinks of his brothers spots on SNL now?

FTR, I know it's kind of NIMBY to want it gone but I do.

Not nimby at all to want it gone. To stand outside and take pictures of customers to later use against them- that's a little more than just being self-righteous.
