His agent will probably mention that when he is trying to get him a contract somewhere next year. His "veteran presence" turned the Phils season around. :D

He knows how to play the game the right way

Narron didn't use him correctly here. Check my signature out and Rick White explains it perfectly right there. It's all Narron's fault for not using him "the way I needed to be pitched." :D

It's really, reaLLY, REALLY hard to believe that Rick White has been on two teams this year and they are both that many games over .500 with him on it. My brain cannot comprehend how that is possible.

Seventy years from now, we will still be lamenting the Curse of Rick White.

Narron didn't use him correctly here. ... only use as a last resort, Narron wasn't smart enough for that.

White sucked with the Reds and has sucked only a little less with the Phillies. He is a bad pitcher and always has been, subject to the volatility of a middle reliever with not very good stuff.. The difference is he has given up 3 less HRs in a few more innings with the Phillies.

The problem wasn't the way that Narron used him. It was that he used him at all. Maybe that's what he meant.

Is he still tipping his pitches?

Sounds a lot like Ryan Franklin.

the reds just needed to encourage him to walk more people instead of giving up homers?

"Pitching to contact" clearly didn't work for Mr. White.

I was in his corner when he said that he had always dreamed of pitching for the Reds and now he was p*ssing away his dream. I was really hoping he'd turn it around after he stopped commuting from Springfield every day. Then after he left and made the "they didnít pitch me the way I needed to be pitched" comment and he lost me.

Funny how one guy can be this big on how a team's season can be and how they look at their wins and losses overall. I know its quite a stat by breaking it down during White and post White...but there are many other things as well. Sorry for being the downer here....just didn't see much in they way he pitched to make.

Reds before designating Tony Womack 19-8

Exactly!! Rick White was not the reason we were 10 games over .500 while he was here. Our Starting pitching coupled with a hot hitting offense would be why that is.

Just think what our record would have been in the second half with Rick White? We'd have been out of the Race a long time ago.
