View Full Version : Who are you rooting for?

In the playoffs this year... (not who you think will win, but who you are rooting for)

Twins over A's.... I love watching Johan and Liriano (even though he isn't playing), plus the "Special K" relationship with the Twins still is kinda cool, plus way back when they were almost contracted, and then turned it around completely made me like them more

Tigers over Yanks.... I love the Tigers young team, especially their pitchers (Verlander and Zumaya).... plus they have the all time hug king Sean Casey. Gotta cheer for him.

Mets over Dodgers... just don't care for the Dodgers much. I'm pulling for the Mets mainly because of the injuries to their SP. Plus the whole West Coast losing streak we had ruined our season basically.

Padres over Cards... I despise the Cardinals, and the 34 year old Pujols (lol). Don't get me started on Jim Edmonds. Also, Jake Peavy is one of my favorite pitchers in the league.

I'm pulling for the A's. One because they aren't the Yankees, lol and Two, because I'd like to see The Big Hurt get himself a ring.

I'd like to see the Tigers move on too, but the Yankees are just so good this year, but they're young and should be in a position to win it for years to come.

If anyone from the NL, I'd like to see the Dodgers win it because Kenny Lofton is my favorite player.

I guess you could say I'm conflicted lol

Kenny Lofton is a jinx though. No way do the Dodgers win it all

It does seem that way, doesn't it?

I can't stand the Dodgers or Mets and I just can't root for St Louis. I guess that leaves San Diego in the NL. In the AL, I'm rooting for the A's but I'd be fine with the Tigers or Twins winning the pennant.

Two, because I'd like to see The Big Hurt get himself a ring.

Didn't he get one last year?

This postseason is a real turd so far. But I guess things don't get very interesting till the Cee-Esses.

Didn't he get one last year?

Not as a contributor... Pretty sure he was left off the post-season roster due to injury.

Anybody but the Yankees... of course, last year in football, i was rooting for anyone but the Steelers after the Bengals were out, and we all know how that one ended

The Bengals...NFL Playoffs.

It is very cool seeing Sean Casey in the post season. I am just hoping to see good games.

I'm rooting for the Reds not to be an inconsequence.

Tigers!!! GO CASEY!

Gotta cheer on the Tigers!!!! The Mayor is going to be awesome this postseason! I've got a feeling!....Or maybe its because he's my favorite player....

Oh yeah, and I want the Pads to make it to the WS, but I want Sean and the Tigs to get a ring!

1. Twins
2. Yankees
3. A's
4. Padres
5. Dodgers
6. Mets
7. Tigers
8. Cardinals (detest them)

These are my favorite in order. I will likely get bashed for the Yankee favoritism and the lack of Tiger love, but that is how I feel. I go against the grain somewhat with the Yankees and pull for them because everyone else hates them (I want A-Rod to finally win one). I just don't like the Tigers make-up, and my brain tells me they are a terrible playoff, even in the NL. Just my opinion.

But, yeah, I love the Twins. I hope they win the next three.

Although I hate the Yankees I take a perverse pleasure in them winning. Apparently the only way most people will realize how wacked it is for one team to outspend its "competition" by 2x or more is if the Yankees start winning the WS every year.

If either one of the "bottom three" win, I'll be mildly disappointed. But the fact of the matter is, it's post-season baseball and there's very few things in the whole wide world better than that, so just enjoy.

I too would like to see Sean Casey do well in the post season.

I don't really care who wins it all, just as long as the games are good and close.

AL: A's
NL: Padres

I will not watch any post-season unless the A's (my AL team) make the World Series...

A's - time to silence the haters.

10-05-2006, 12:25 PM
Any team not from New York.

10-05-2006, 02:57 PM
I'm rooting against the Cards, Yankees, and Mets in that order. I guess I'd have to go for the twins or A's if I were picking.

10-05-2006, 03:11 PM
Any team not from New York.

i'll second that emotion.

10-05-2006, 03:19 PM
I'd like to see an A's - Mets WS. Moneyball vs. Minaya... it doesn't get much better in terms of GM matchups.

10-05-2006, 04:48 PM
Tigers for sure. Attending Mud Hens games for 17 years has turned me into a Tigers fan, 2nd only to the Reds.

Same for me
