I'd go with the youngsters

Is this right now, or the long haul?

I would say it'd be a more interesting poll saying right now, b/c for the future, I'd say it would be near 100% for the Metropolitans. :)

Wright and Reyes any day of the week.

If I was starting a team for the next 5 years, I'd take the Mets. But for 1 year, I'd rather have ARod and Jeter, no question.

i'd rather move Jeter to second and move ARod to short.

Is this offensive ability? Defensive ability? Lil of both? Too vague of a question right now. More information please.

Since you put it that way....

How does one weigh the overrated Derek Jeter vs. the virtually unproven Jose Reyes?

Granted, Jeter produces offensively, but is not as good as advertised, or as good as all the accolades he receives. Heck, Jeter's not even the best SS on the Yankees roster right now. That being said, perhaps A-Rod's value as a 3B is then admittedly lower b/c in all actuality, he's a SS playing WAY over near the line. David Wright is an emerging talent, I'll leave it at that.

Reyes has played in all of 463 games, and only full time the last two seasons while stinking up the joint offensively last year, and perhaps have a semi-breakout year this year. Defensively, I give the edge to Reyes by a wide margin, since Jeter really does have limited range, and not the most reliable arm.

Hopefully this wasn't too confusing, and I fully expected it to be criticized by the RZ faithful, so after the final tally, I give it advantage ARod/Jeter, only due to proven offensive track record. Defensively I think Wright/Reyes are better b/c Jeter is honestly one of the worst defensve SS in the game, but offensively Wright/Reyes can't hold a candle to ARod/Jeter.

Reyes is a tremendous young shortstop. Great at bat tonight in key spot to help beat the Dodgers.
