That would be it. I couldn't think of the name. The camera was focused on them and then just changed direction and went elsewhere. Now you can see the watering hole but no animals.

It's usually pretty boring during the night hours the occasional animal stops to get a drink but for the most part things are pretty busy around the hole from about 11:30 est until 8-9ish est. Good for late night viewing ive seen numerous wildebeast, a couple rhino's monkey's lotsa zebras and a leopard .No lions or hyenas thats what ive been waiting to see.

When the hell is something going to be attacked and eaten in a flurry of fur, hide, teath and blood? I see it all the time on the National Geogprahic channel and only have to wait a few minutes.

But this alleged "African Watering Hole", which could easily a lake on Adam Dunn's estate, gives me what? False hope of death, carnage and destruction only to be let down by a bunch of ducks.

This is probably an evil genus move by Adam Dunn to get back at Redszone for all the heat he takes on here. "I know, I'll set up a phoney webcam and all those techno dorks will fall for it and spend hours in hopes of seeing a lion".

Sad part is....I'm hooked too.

OldRightHander

The duck keeps dipping its head under the water, so apparently there is some violent animal death happening, just that it's happening underwater where we can't see it.

It's working now. There is a herd of buffalo (different than the American ones) and two of them were locking horns and moving their heads around kind of funny. Then the camera panned and caught one of them taking a pee. I could have missed that part. They should have put this camera by a river so we could see the crocodiles come out of the water and grab them when they take a drink.

Just got back to the office from a business trip and of course came running to the computer to check out the Adam Dunn memorial watering hole in hopes of carnage.

No buffalo, no horns locking, not even a sign of anything urninating.

There might be some of those silly birds in the water again, but they might also be rocks. Hard to say.

The camera is based in South Africa, it shows the current time as 9:35 pm--which puts it about 6 hours ahead of EST. It seems like it should be more than that, but my mental image of geographic distances is frequently skewed.

Then I found myself thinking, "wonder what's at the watering hole right now" and checking in. Then I was hooked.

It's also cool that we are all looking at this goofy watering whole 1/2 way round the world in a place we'll likely never visit. Technology and the web used for good. Definatley a great thread and contribution.

for any of you insomniacs out there, this watering hole gets really hopping during (their) morning. I've seen a bunch of little active morning creatures, including a freaky little thing that looked like the love child of a rabbit and a hedgehog. I'm putting my rhino plans aside at present in favor of adopting an African deer-creature. They seem far more chill than American deer. Right now I'm watching a very stoned-looking, scrappily long-legged white bird with a fauxhawk. He seems bound and determined to walk the entire outer edge of the watering hole at the pace of roughly six steps an hour. It's like he's on his own private sightseeing tour. I'm calling him Neil.

I really, really want to see a giraffe.
