The Tigers are tough to silence. Just hope they have another week and a half of greatness left in 'em.

News flash: The Tigers are pretty good.
I like this team. They keep doing things I wish the Reds had been able to do all season.

Ordonez with a walk off homer. The Tigers are in the World Series!

The Tigers are the best team baseball has seen since the 1998 Yankees.

Go Tigers! Win it all.

I remember when Leyland first took over the Tigers - some ridiculed him because he got the league the Tigers were in confused (if I am not mistaken).
He does not deserve all of the credit - but I think he played a rather large roll in this Tiger turnaround.
Congrats Detroit.

Jim Leyland and Sean Casey in the Series..

That's OK with me....

How about no.

No they aren't.

However the White Sox last year, and the Tigers (and even the Cards) this year are proving momentum going into the playoffs means jack.

What team from 1999-2005 is better than this year's Tigers?

I'll take the wire to wire White Sox last year.

What a shame for MLB that the Cards are probably going to reach the World Series. The Mets are hands down the better team but they have way too many injuries to their pitching staff.

Reds Fanatic
10-14-2006, 09:57 PM
Trachsel has already given up 4 hits and 4 walks but the Mets bullpen was used a lot last night so they will probably leave him out there for a while.

Other than Glavine and a few relievers, the Mets whole staff is dogcrap.

Yep. I think the Mets are the embarrassment. That is one overrated squad. I've thought so all season.

To be fair, they're just like the Yankees, only if Mussina and RJ had gotten injured.

The whole NL was an embarrassment this year. No team in the NL deserves a trip to the World Series. The Mets were solid with Pedro, but are merely average without him.

Seven easy shutout innings from Suppan.

Like eternal physical laws, pitching beats hitting. It's funny cause it's true.

Good night from Suppan, however, he is still a bad pitcher. That 1.45 WHIP sure isn't impressive.

Suppan was two different pitchers this year.

Pre ASB 5.83 ERA 1.62 WHIP
Post ASB 2.39 ERA 1.28 WHIP

Incredible turnaround.

Suppan also knows how to pitch big games. He was the winning pitcher, outdueling Roger Clemens, in game 7 of the 2004 NLCS. He's a very good pitcher.
