For me, it's the willingness of the FO to spend money this off-season. I would just like to see it spent a little more wisely, IMO.

Ditto

I'm especially thankful for what Castellini and Krivsky have done to end the "Maybe next year..." mindset that this team has had for so many years. We Reds fans now have something to look forward to...

Edit- Oh yeah...I'm also very thankful Homer Bailey. :)

Hope.

Seconded. There is a world of difference between how I feel about this club now and how I did a year ago.

Also Hatteberg.

Amen.

The team hasn't been this close to a solid roster since '99. Hopefully the roster has a little belief in how close they are as well...and are preparing accordingly this offseason.

if it HAS to do with the reds, then I am thankful for Rich Aurillia being the only consistent offensive weapon we had after "the trade"

he doesnt get enough credit in my opinion.

I'm thankful to be a fan of the very first professional baseball team.....through the tough times and through the great.

(unfortunately, I missed most of the great :D)

I'm thankful that as a lifelong Reds fan that I was able to experience 1975, 1976, 1990, and 1999.

Much to my boyfriend's chagrin, I'm thankful for Matt Belisle. ;)

I'm also thankful that the Reds are coming to Oakland next season!!!

I'm thankful for Ryan Freel's hustle and the good heart of Ken Griffey Jr. I'm thankful that I was lucky enough as a clueless nine year old to select an amazing person and player, Barry Larkin, as my idol. I'm thankful that even though there are athletes that can be jerks, there are also plenty of good people in baseball, like Sean Casey, Paul Wilson, Brandon Claussen, Jason LaRue, David Weathers, Todd Coffey, Aaron Harang, and many, many more. I'm thankful that I get to share the love of the Cincinnati Reds with my dad. I'm thankful that I've met so many great people on Redszone!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!! :D

I am thankful that the REDS play 45 miles from my house.... 81 times a year.

I am thankful that cable TV now allows me to see more than 100 REDS games per year when I cannot attend.

I am thankful that we have a place like RZ where we can discuss our fav MLB team and other topics. Thanks to all of you for keeping me entertained.

I am thankful to live in a town with the first professional baseball team.
I am thankful for the rich history of said baseball team.
I am thankful that I get to watch my favorite player ever play for my Reds every day (at least when he is healthy). He may not be what he was in his Seattle Days, but when he swings that bat, and his foot pops off the ground, its a beautiful beautiful sight.
I am thankful for this message board, without it, my baseball knowledge would be much less and I wouldnt have a place to talk and read so much on my team.

That I got to experience the BRM in the '70's and was spoiled.
That Eric Milton's contract expires in October of 2007.
That the Reds have a few players (Freel, Hatty, Arroyo and Harang) that could play in any decade and make me happy when they are in the lineup.
That the future could be filled with EE and Homer Bailey.
That Spring Training is less than 3 months away.

j/k. I agree with you 100%.

I'm also thankful for our new ballpark and the beautiful green grass on the playing field.

Fifi LaRue, DonO, Bowden, and FLop - for being gone
Pittsburgh for offering comic relief
Minnesota Twins for offering hope
Yankees for being old and sucky
Freel (and Farney) for playing the game the way its supposed to be played

Pete and Joe and Johnny and Sparky and Tony and George and Davey and Cesar for being part of the best childhood a boy could ask for.
