Gary Matthews JR but I've been thinking about it lately and I tell you what: Almost everyone on the 2003 World series winning Florida Marlins team is STILL living off that ONE YEAR. Essentially, all those players left that team and signed huge contracts living off their "one year wonder"

Examples:

Josh Beckett
Brad Penny
Carl Pavano
Juan Pierre
Alex Gonzalez
Juan Encarnacion
Mike Lowell
Braden Looper

The two exceptions would be Ivan Rodriguez and Derek Lee..both who have pretty much "earned" their huge new contracts since leaving that team.

Most of the guys on that list and their WS manager have been on the public wishlist of various members of RedsZone at one time or another.

you misunderstood the post obviously. They all have BANKED in on their success from that ONE post season into lucrative deals.

and please please plesae, check their stats since 2003 and see if ANY of their seasons have warranted such high contracts/expensive trades/etc.

My point is they BANKED in on more than ONE post season.
