1. What is the date by which teams have to offer arbitration to their free agents ( in order to get draft picks if they sign elsewhere )?
I suspect Krivsky & other GMs are waiting until this passes before signing the 2nd tier free agents. No reason for the Reds to sign a guy like Craig Wilson and give up draft picks if the Yanks won't offer him arbitration.
Same thing for the Giants with Aurillia.
2. What is the date by which teams have to offer arbitration to their arbitration elligible players?
I know in the past decent players have been let go because teams thought their salary was higher than their production.
David Eckstein comes to mind 2 years ago.
Heck David Ortiz was let go by the Twins a few years ago.
3. Krisky might be in a 'wait for bargains' mode after signing the defensive SS he needed.
