I got the okay to post this. My daughter called last night and she received an email saying that a short story she submitted to Elysian Fields Quarterly - The Baseball Review has been accepted and will be published sometime next year. She's pretty excited (as are we) as this is her first publication since she graduated from college. I'll let everyone know when it comes out.

The website is http://www.efqreview.com/ - looks interesting.

Thanks for congrats, I'll pass them on. She is very excited and she printed up a copy of the story for my wife and I to read again. It's a cute story and one of her best. She has to write a brief bio and she wanted to make note of the Reds in it, so she's mentioning Opening Day as an unofficial "sick day" and that in high school, she talked the administration into closing her school for Opening Day! (They had a day coming and she suggested it Opening Day would be a good one - they bit!).

Just a bump up on this thread. My daughter called last night to say she received four copies of the latest issue of Elysian Fields Quarterly with her story in it. If any of you receive the magazine, her story is Four New Songs and is in the current Opening Day Issue (Volume 24, No. 1).

The funny thing is, she's also an artist, planning on being a illustrator. She told my wife it was strange to see another illustrator doing her story and seeing how they conceptualized the story.

Well, I'm proud as can be and glad to see her get her first by-line!

Ouch! Well, actually, she gets it from both of us....but is skilled beyond anything either of us has written.
