Jay McShann, the Kansas City bandleader that gave the legendary jazz saxophonist Charlie Parker his start, has died. He was perhaps the last of the Kansas City giants. Kudos to Clint Eastwood for being able to get Jay McShann on his "Piano Blues" special on PBS a few years ago.
