He's gonna learn a two-seam fastball and a slider as well? Nice.

I know pretty lame, I was both excited and scared at the same time. Atleast it wasn't an injury announcement. Cant find anything on the story except for this.

Despite the organization's deliberate approach to his development, top prospect RHP Homer Bailey will be in the big league rotation early in the 2007 season if he's successful at changing speeds in spring training and posts strong results early at AAA Louisville. Bailey, 20, already has a strong mid-to-high 90s fastball that overpowers minor-league hitters

I think the way this off season is shaping up, its becoming pretty clear that both Homer and Votto are probably penciled in for sometime during '07 in Krivsky's mind....

I guess if Homer turns out to be a strong #2 this season, we really didn't need any pitching. If he doesn't we are probably in trouble. We have a one two punch, a one two three would be great. Sure would be nice to pencil in the numbers EZ put up at the begining of the season in that four spot and let Lohse and milton fight for the fifth.

I would disagree with Votto considering that I asked this question of WayneK at RedsFest and he appeared to have never considered Votto for the 2007 season. He is either a good actor or Votto will be spending more than 75% of the season at AAA.

Is he still available? Somehow I wish he was...

What a great bullpen the Reds would have if they had Lee. ;) Holy Cow! And then they could trade the rest of the bullpen for Haren, Harden and ANY prospect the Reds want even if he is from another team! EASY! Billy Beane would be an IDIOT not to do that!

Actaully I thought our bullpen was getting sent to Seatle for Washburn and Hernendez..? The power of the ancient ones compells you! The power of Stanton compells you!

My gut has told me all winter that Bailey is their "starting pitcher." No need spending 12 million a year on a free agent. They will say, "no he will start in AAA", but if he has even an "OK" spring training, they will say, "he's to good not to start out on the big club, he has deserved it."

Please, Bailey won't be even close to Verlander next year. He is 2 years younger and that is alot in pitchers years. If it was 2008, a arguement could be made(Bailey 22). But not this year, as Bailey probably needs another full season of minor league ball.
