Some idiot woman married him while he was in jail. She then bought a house and when he was released last week, he moved in. Now we aren't talking slums here, the neighborhood in which he now lives has homes that go for about 180k - not great, but not junk either.

Needless to say, the majority of the city is less than pleased.

If you haven't already done so, you should go to your county website and see what sexual offenders are in your area. There are also national sites that will give you the same information. One is http://www.familywatchdog.us

Creek is probably wishing her favorite airplane (F-15E) would fly over and drop a JDAM right on this guy's doorstep while he was in there.

Solid advice. About 5 years ago we had a guy around the corner who allowed a registered sex offender to move in with him and share the rent. This scum was twice convicted for offenses with minors under 10. And it was right across the street from a woman who did child care. I got the guy's pic off the Sheriff's website, made a nice little print out, and went around to all the neighbors and handed it out to let them know who was now living in the neighborhood. I also told my kids to stay away from the house and that I had better never even catch them riding their bikes around there.

The guy lost the house to foreclosure about two years ago, and his "buddy" is now back in prison for further sex offenses.

I think that pretty well sums it up, vatican.

I might have to change my boxers.

I have an offender living three houses up on the other side of the street. He was a teacher(while almost 60 and being warned numerous times) had to play "hide the salami" with a 16 year old female student. Amazingly he was allowed to retire and served no jail time(he was on in-home detention for a long time).

He was convicted of "Gross Sexual Imposition". I'm sure it was.

Good god, I feel sorry for that guy. I'm in no way excusing whatever he did, but you can almost see how he would get to that point. His life has probably been a living hell. And I'm guessing the ladies (or men) are not lining up at his door for a little nookie.

Don't think I'm too goodhearted though. I suspect that if I saw him in person I might faint.

NOTE: My shouty female would like to remind everyone that rape is about power and not about nookie, I could not forgive myself if I thought I just made that implication. I don't know exactly what this guy did though; he wasn't convicted of rape or assault.

WHY???

If you answer that question incorrectly, you might wind up on that list :)

There is simply no way in hell that guy should be out of a jail cell, ever.

Not sure if he was convicted on all those charges (aggravated murder???)

Why is he even allowed to see the light of day? How sad.

Maybe somebody really, really "aggrevated" him.

I don't agree with any form of misconduct like that but I do have to say it's an extremely sad situation.

73 in little ol' Piqua - one right down a side street and another across the street from me. Oh joy.
But, even better yet - my best friend from high school is on there  - frankly, I am not surprised, though. His brother was suspected of breaking and entering literally every week while I was working for the local paper 15 years ago. Scary family.

Most of the local sherrif websites have them, or links to state systems, also.

Fantastic advice originally given to us by a realator.

Mrs. Ltlabner and I were considering purchasing a home and our realator suggested we do a search. Not sure if she knew something was up, or was just giving us friendly advice.

Either way, turns out our dream home was on the same street was 2 registered preditors and there were a bunch of folks with varying degrees of sexual offenses within a short distance of the place. Needless to say, no offers were made on that house.

Interestingly, just reciently a good aquaitence of mine was glowing that she and her hubby had just bought their first home. I felt like a total smuck for having to tell here the real story once she told me the location of the home. Turns out it was on the exact same street as Mrs. Ltlabner and I had looked at 2 years prior. :( I hated bursting her bubble as "our first home" is a great time but I couldn't live with myself had something happened to her 2 young boys and I knew but never told her.

Keep in mind that a fair amount of people on the registry are there because of "sexually related offenses" which, as I understand it, is not as sevear as being a child preditor. The classic example is an 17year old boy is caught red-handed with his 16year old girlfriend. Maybe one of our layer friends here can give us a better definition of what sort of crimes would land you on this list.

You can usually pick out the ones who can't get any girls except for ones that are underage (probably 15-17; sexual misconduct w/ a minor is the charge usually)... which doesn't make it right, but they appear to look a semi-normal (a little goofy though)... the child molestors though you can tell just by looking at them
