By now, I'm sure we have all heard of the devastation that went on in Florida with the tornados. My prayers and deepest sympathies go out to those families.

My question is why on Earth is it that some of the communities hit down there were without tornado sirens or some kind of mass alert system? Nearly every state in the CONUS is prone to being hit by a tornado, some more than others. To me, from my experiences in Florida, there is absolutely no reason to exclude that state from the possibility of being hit by a tornado, with some of the "super cell" storms that form up as a result of the warm gulf air moisture.

It's definitely something that needs to be done for these citizens.
