Conine 3
Ross 2
Castro 5
Hopper 7
Wise 8
Machado 4

Milton P

Good to see Wonderboy back in action... and in the 3 spot even.

...of course, with this lineup, he'll be the only one capable of producing anything...

This team would be bad enough to get us relocated to Miami

If we're going to make our cuts, we need to nix Wise and Machado already. Neither will make the team... (hopefully)

More from Trent:

Belisle, Weathers and Hermanson are also supposed to pitch today

Looks like Jay Bruce will play in another exhibition game. He's out warming up with the major league squad and has the major league pants on (the big league squad wears the pinstriped white pants, while the minor leaguers wear grey.) Homer was over with the minor league pitchers.

Eddie Guardado threw off the mound this morning. Just saw him for a second and he gave me a thumbs up. Then he said, "Kremcheck did a good job," referring to Tim Kremcheck, the Reds doctor who performed Tommy John surgery on his left elbow last September. Many pitchers report increased velocity after Tommy John surgery, so Guardado had been joking that if he wasn't throwing 95 today, he was going to be pretty upset at Kremcheck.

I said to Eddie, "You up to 98 today?" Eddie responded, "felt like it."

Dude had a huge smile on his face, which is far from unusual. But today there was a good reason behind it.

I don't get the Gonzalez at 3rd thing either...

I sure hope we never see a lineup like this in the regular season. :bang:

MLB.com says Halladay's pitching for the Jays today, should be interesting to see how Hamilton does against him.

The first good curveball Hamilton sees he will rip it into left center. He stays back so well he'll get a long look at it. My prediction. ;)

It's spring training.

He may have to play there in an emergency during the season.

Better to get a look at it know than later.

What you posted says Gonzalez 6 and Castro 5, which would make Castro the 3B.

I selfishly hope that lineup means all the regulars are playing tomorrow, a game I get to watch on the real tv.

Why do we get all worked up over things like this? It's Spring Training, you try guys at different spots to get a look at them. Maybe we're showcasing some guys at different spots. There's all sorts of reasons for line-ups like this in March.

NESN plus Papelbon. I really can't wait for the regular season, I feel pathetic getting excited over the opportunity to watch a ST game.

Agreed !
A reds fan gets excited especially when we have got practically no TV coverage yet.
I have watched ST reports on their FSN channels from teams like STL,Colo,Stros, as well as Sox and NY and frankly I want to see my reds. I wish they had more pre-season coverage.

The sad thing is, I'm actually a Red Sox fan who lives in NE and gets NESN(the Reds are my NL/#2 team), and I don't even think they get enough ST or minor league coverage on their own network.

Example:the Red Sox are playing the Dodgers right now, Matsuzaka pitching, Sox top prospect starting in CF, and what's on NESN? A rerun of last night's Bruins game.

It all stems from paranoia that EdE will somehow get replaced with TSF Castro or Gonzalez. We certainly can't afford to lose another bat in the lineup...

but you are right. It's just ST.

Besides, I was wrong about the lineup. Just had one of those brain farts. :help:

Did anyone notice this off the MLB site in article concerning EG's return:

Blessed with a strong rotation and a loaded offense, the Reds expect to be an NL Central force, which will put a lot of burden on the two veteran arms at the end of their bullpen. Having Guardado come to their rescue the last two months could be a season-saver.

The article was concerning "several" vets return and not just EG.
