View Full Version : "Dead Arm Period" - Fact or Fiction?

I have heard much about this Spring Training phenomena for many years now. And I gotta say that I have long suspected that the Reds have used this "dead arm" angle to explain most of the dead weight in the pitching staff over the last few years. ;)

Those of you who are more knowledgeable than I about these things, is this a factual phenomena or is it fodder to try to explain lousy pitching? :dunno:

For some pitchers it seems to last throughout the season.
