Livingston pitching tommorow instead of Milton. Against the Boston "A" Team. Man would I like to see him throw awesome and take the Lefty spot in the Rotation. I would much rather see him in there no matter how he does, becasue he's a cheap youngster and Milton is a costly old guy.

I agree -- I think he's got 2, maybe 3 starts tops before management flushes the contract for good.

When that does happen, the Reds rotation quietly goes from being middling to above-average in the NL, IMO -- especially if Loshe gets skipped frequently as the #5 guy.

Todays game

Good: Saarloos does well, Belisle does adequate.

Bad: Josh goes 1-5... I am starting to think that folks (opposing pitchers/catchers) have been watching video and he has gone from an unknown to a player with a visible hole in the zone. Dont get me wrong, I still love the guy, but playing every 3rd or 4th day is not gonna help fix it if I am right.

Ugly: Late defense and hitting with RISP.

That's not a random occurrence, but normally the result of scouting. I am not down on the guy at all... just pointing out the negative if they keep him on the 25 but fail to get him enough ABs.

That's a good point. Most of the ST parks are not equipped with the full set of player development cameras, so one must use actual broadcast footage for video prep. However, even without the video, the STATS Pro software linked with TVTI would quickly show the statistical strike zone at a glance. On a daily basis, i think that 23 of the 30 teams are getting every game charted using those programs.

I dont know if you have ever seen a STATS Pro screen, but the holes in an individual batters screen jump out at you at first glance. It allows catchers to prep for a game in a matter of minutes.
I was thoroughly impressed with it.

I would much rather pay him to sit at home, than take up a rotation spot that Belisle/Livingston/Saaroos/Santos have proven they DESERVE a shot at, and to lose us every 5th game.

I am an idiot... I used the wrong name... it is "BATS" pro software, not stats. YIts produced by Sydex sports... (sydexsports.com) and the vidoe linking software comes from TVTI (tvti.net)

TVTI is my brother-in-law's company... they started off by selling the product to Bowden when he was with the Reds, and now they have 23 of 30 ML teams as clients.

Are people aware that Eric Milton still has an option left?

There's your solution, even thought the Reds will never do it.

So the Reds can pay him $9mil to lose games or pay him $9mil to go home.:help:

If they have to pay him anyway, I'd rather they pay him to NOT help the team lose.

He's like Michael Jackson in that respect -- he wears a glove on one hand, but nobody really can figure out why.

You must be older than I thought you were, CE---that line dates all the way back to Mariano Duncan and the Dodgers!

Yes.

My understanding is that he has enough seniority to demand his outright release rather than accept a demotion, even if the Reds have an option on him.

Personally, I think they should do the humane thing and shoot him.
