View Full Version : And you thought Narron's lineups were bad?

Yadier Molina is batting 5th for the Cardinals.

HAHAHA Wilson's batting 2nd. I love this lineup!

The Cardinals have two good hitters in that lineup - Pujols and Rolen.

Carpenter doesn't look too good so far. He's allowed two runs on 6 hits in 3.2 inning while walking one and hitting one. That's eight baserunners in 3.2 IP. Mets lead 2-0 and have the bases loaded for LoDuca.

Beltran RBI single, 5-0 Mets. Carpenter is getting hammered.

Inning finally over as Delgado groundsout into the shift.

Why does it look like Eckstein is putting everything he has into every throw he makes?

Is his arm honestly that bad?

Worst major league arm I've ever seen. The Cardinals need to send Kennedy over to cut off his throws on groundballs to SS.

I know it's really presemptious, but I was thinking when they went over the Cardinals rotation that this team has a good chance to be pretty bad. Kip Wells and Braden Looper in the rotation? Banking on unproven starters in Reyes and Wainwright? Jocketty's definatly rolling the dice...

mole44

Knowing our luck tho, they will win 20 each

Braden Looper? They are desperate. Good news for us. And.. If this game keeps up this way, we're half a game up already. Wire to wire anyone?

They got into Carpenters head early in this game with small ball, advancing the runners and not swinging at stupid pitches.

It was something like 63 pitches in 3 2/3 innings.

It's painful to watch Eckstein throw a ball. You can see him straining so much, and getting his whole body into the throw. I'm amazed he's given credit for being a "good" defender.

Adam Kennedy, however, he seems to be the real deal @ 2B defensively.

All your scrappiness couldn't save you from the arm of Carlos Beltran.

Is that Oquendo coaching 3B, or Wendell Kim?

Tom Glavine's a six inning pitcher anymore. That's the problem with the Mets' rotation: no horses to speak of. The entire rotation is a bunch of 5/6 inning pitchers.

And they lost Bradford; and will likely need Heilman to step into the rotation; Wagner's not getting any younger.

They have the cash to shore up a lot of things in NY, but I'm just not sure they have what it takes to fix their problems.

Agreed. More reason to be optimistic in this area code. The National League is up for grabs. Even the good teams have big holes.

The price of good talent has gotten so high that not even the NY teams can reliably spend their way out of bad decisions midseason.

They would be a much, much better team with him anchoring the staff. That was a dumb non-move on their part.

I'm glad you got my sarcasm cause honestly, Glavine is a number 2 to 3 starter at this point. He's still got amazing stuff, but won't last six innings. Zito anchors that staff for years, because he was a need.

Miles hit .280 the year before he was traded to St. Louis with Bigbie. I don't want to hear excuses. :p:

Chicago White Sox 8 12 3 4 3 0 0 2 7 0 0 0 0 .333 .583 .333
Colorado Rockies 134 522 75 153 15 3 6 47 192 29 53 12 7 .329 .368 .293
Colorado Rockies 99 324 37 91 12 3 2 28 115 8 38 4 2 .306 .355 .281
St. Louis Cardinals 135 426 48 112 20 5 2 30 148 38 42 2 1 .324 .347 .263

Hmm...I see him offensively for two years..but from my shortstop..Do I care about .263 if he's a short stop? Not really. I care about my shortstop making throws to get people like Shawn Green out.

Narron is moving in the right direction slightly.
Still dont want him managing the team I root for, but so far, I only have a small complaint, but I am willing to wait to be proven wrong on it.

Don't we all want Dunn to give himself up to move runners over for BP? I especially love seeing a team give away outs early in ballgames. Playing small ball in the 1st inning makes my heart sing.

I think Marty was confused on the Dunn bunt. It wasn't to move guys over, it was to get 2 guys on base with 0 outs, which I don't mind.

I just want to throw out there that I think the Cardinals could be really bad this year. I'm not hearing the singing of praises for them so much after seeing that mess they call a team last night.
