Harang goes on Saturday on his regular 5 days rest, but who follows him? Milton? Saarloos and Santos both pitched today so it more than likely won't be them. Or does Livingston come up from AAA?

Going along with that, what is the corresponding roster move? Coutlangus goes down ;)?

My money is on Eric Milton. Coutlangus goes to Louisville to make room on the roster.

I think it has to be Jim Coombs. He's waited long enough.

Unless someone is traded (Cormier?).

Sounds like Eric Milton will start Sunday.

Santos!? That's where my money lays. Unless they work something out with Oakland for Burton. The only other guy would be Moeller, and well we know how that will go. JN will have a fit if he cannot have a 3rd guy beind the plate......just in case!

I would hope it wouldn't be Milton in a day game against the Bucs' RH-heavy lineup. Santos has a "reverse platoon split," though, so we are up against it with our options...

Though he pitched twice in relief already, maybe Saarloos would be an option?

So, if I go to the game on Sunday, do I have a better chance of getting a ball in the bleacher seats or the sun deck.

I think I would rather see John Smiley come out of retirement, and pitch right handed than have to suffer through Eric Milton.

Eric Milton in 1st starts of the season as a REDS player...
* 2 GS, 12.1 IP, 5 ER, 3.65 ERA.
>> 2-0 Record.

Helps when your team scores 9 and 7 runs respectively in those two games. :D

Santon and Sarloos both pitched today. Santos also pitched yesterday and Sarloos came in on OD. Thats why it will be Milton or Livingston. I'd just rather see Livingston. Coutlangus will be the one to go down with two other lefties still in the pen.

I think the Pirates should play their Rookie league team on Sunday against the Reds. Just to make things fair.

MLB.com has it as Milton. Arroyo on Monday and Lohse on Tuesday. I'm really glad I'm going to the game on Saturday instead of Sunday like usual. What a great Easter present those folks will get.

Maybe a certain pitcher can rise from the dead on Easter Sunday? ;)

Yes he is. Both Milton and Ramirez are eligible to come off the DL on Sunday.

Fay seems to think it's Milton:

Bobby Livingston pitched well enough in spring training in win the fifth starter spot. But he didn't dazzle in his debut for Louisville -- 5 1/3 IP, 9 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts. We'll see how that compares to what Eric Milton does Sunday. It's understandable if Livingston wasn't on top of his game. Getting sent out was a major letdown.

The Bats won 5-4 in 10. Gary Majewski got two outs. He also gave up two hits and a walk but did not allow a run.

Well it seems to me that our other 4 starters better pitch awfully well this year. Because unless we score 10-12 runs we can pretty much count Milton's starts as losses. If ST was any indication of how he's going to pitch this year.

The last time Milton face a minor league squad I think he gave upsomething like 5HR.

I believe thats what Chip was alluding to. It was the Pirates A squad that did the damage.

Since the A squad shelled him, lets bring in the Pittsburgh Little League All-stars and see if Milton can even work through that one.

Sadly, that still beats the last few years, where the battle cry has always been "Well, our other 3 starters better pitch awfully well" when we had Milton and Ortiz to look forward to every week.

Everybody's favorite Uncle will pitch Sunday unless his back gives him problems.....however, after his simulated game the other day, he was good to go.

He'll be re-evaluated prior to Sunday.
