Watson - 5ip, 7h, 0bb, 6 strikeouts, 1 ER. FINAL LINE

That's a nice outing by Watson right there to start the season, and that's on the heels of a pretty good final spring training outing too. Six strikeouts in five innings with no walks tonight certainly isn't bad at all. With his offseason conditioning program and weight loss, it will be interesting to see if Watson can make some leaps with the Dragons and become a guy to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

Also good to see Fisher start with a nice outing while keeping his string of success going from last season. He didn't strike many batters out tonight, but it looks like most of the contact against him was via ground balls.

Chattanooga update

Calvin Medlock still on the mound. With a runner on first the batter lines one into CF where Chris Dickerson dives for it and cant get it. There are now 2 runners on with no outs and the Lookouts are clinging to a 4-3 lead here in the 10th.

I freakin' love minor league baseball.

I'd say Watson and Dickerson are the standouts tonight. Great to see Watson off to a good start. With his stuff, I could see him pullin' out the Basham on us this year. This just feels good to talk about something other than prospect lists.

Long sick night it has been for me. Thought I would chime in real fast here though.

I wanted to add these two guys to Superdudes standout list as they both had very good nights.

Carlos Fisher - 7ip, 3h, 1bb, 0r and a win
Drew Anderson went 3-5 with 3 doubles and 2 runs
Dan Conway went 2-3 with a HR.

Thanks for the updates Doug. Carlos Fisher is my breakout pick on TRF's thread. Strait and Dickerson have a shot at a bench role later this year in the thin Cincy OF?

My breakout pick, Josh Roenicke, picks up the save for Sarasota with 2 K's in 1 inning.

Anyone know how hard this kid throws?

Roenicke throws upwards of 95 MPH. He also throws a potential plus slider that is getting more consistant.

I assume you meant 790 instead of 970 right?

790 is supposed to be carrying the Bats all season according to the 790 website and it was also linked through milb.com to the 790 stream. I didnt listen tonight, but it should have been on tonight.

Thanks.
No i actually did mean 970 which was their station last year.
790 was the reds affliate station that at times came in real clear for me.The reds "may" have switched to 1080 but I'm not sure.
