Time Warner FREE MLB Extra Innings preview April 6-8.

(this is for the cincinnati area)
I assume it will be nationwide.

It was going to start on April 5th, but I checked last night and it wasn't on.

Enjoy the 3 free days of baseball. :beerme:

Also, to note in this thread as well.

The "early bird" price, that was $129 in year's past, is $159.96 this year.

That price is only good until April 15th.

After that, the regular price of $199.96 for the full season goes into effect.

So last year, the early bird was $129. This year it is $159.96.
Last year, regular pricing was $159. This year it is $199.96.

Send thank you notes to MLB

I may send a note...but it won't say "thank you".

Well, they still have NHL Center Ice showing on all the MLB EI channels here on Time Warner in Columbus. I saw they had added the EI channels last night but they all had hockey playing.

Maybe today they will actually switch from hockey to baseball. Or better yet, they should run the free preview starting Sunday and run it the normal week like they usually do.

Can you go back and re-check your records because I've never heard numbers like that before? If your numbers are correct, you got the deal of the baseball season last year.

I have TWC here in Cincinnati and I was billed $44.75 for four months last year and I received a $20 credit for ordering it early. Do the math and that works out to $179 for the year and $159 for the earlybird.

That seems consistent with what folks paid nationwide in 2006:

The package features as many as 60 out-of-market games per week; the 2006 price was $179 for the season.

That being said the $199 does represent an increase but the earlybird price seems to be the same. I am also reading that DirecTV is offering it at $159.96 but I do not know if that price will go up after this week or not.

As far as I am concerned the price didn't go up at all. The $159 earlybird price is identical to what I paid last year. I just checked my 2006 TWC bills.

I didn't get EI in 2006. I got it in 2005 and I was thinking I only paid $129. I could be wrong.

I will check tonight when I get home and post. I have the receipts from Time Warner saved so I do have them at home. I just can't get to them until I go home after work. Will post then, but I'm almost 100% I paid $129 last year.

I know for absolute fact that I paid $129 in 2005.

The reason I know that is because we moved that year and Time Warner billed me twice for it after moving the service to our new address. Took me months to get that fixed on my bill.

Well I want you negotiating my bills in the future because I just checked my bills and this is what it said:

April 8, 2004 $149 MLB Extra Innings
April 8, 2005 $149 MLB Extra Innings

In the folder, I also have the MLB Extra Innings mailer (postcard) sent to advertise and it advertises the package at $169.

So it seems to me that they did go up $10 last year but I've never in my life gotten it for $129 and I doubt I ever will.

Anyone know if Wide Open West (WOW) Cable in Columbus has offered Extra Innings in the past or will this year?

It shares the hockey channels. This morning I saw baseball is scheduled to be on about 5 of the channels and hockey on about 5 of the channels tonight. The Boston-Texas game should be on one of the channels right now.

Some good news about Extra Innings. I just saw that Time Warner has added the 4 extra channels allowing us to get all the games now where we were missing some before. Instead of 10 channels there are now 14 channels here for Extra Innings.

I checked it out on Time Warner in Dayton but wasn't too excited about it. The picture is lousy...dark and contrasty. Is this a Time Warner thing?
Of all games listed, I was only able to see one. I think it was the A's game. The Red Sox/Rangers game was listed but when I went to that channel, all I got was a blank screen.

Unforunately that's what everyone's receiving right now. I'm wondering if the NHL games are causing a bandwidth problem. I also noticed this sorry picture looked much better on my analog TV.

Another weird thing I noticed this weekend is was the Cardinals-Astros games were blacked out on my cable system. I have been an Extra Innings subscriber for years and I know the teams I get blacked out on and the Cardinals are not one of those teams.

Was it on Sat? That may have been why. A lot more games are blacked out on Sat's for whatever reason...
