He is playing SS tonight for the Eggs and has a 3 run HR. I wonder when that Castro guy will get off the bench.?

When a LHP pitcher is going the Reds bench of RH hitters is made up of Castro, Moeller and Valentin. Sure hope the Reds don't need any hits off the bench.

Eggs = Tampa Bay Devil Rays/D-Rays/Rays

I've never seen it anywhere else other then here.

On Harris, I didn't think he was ever going to be much of anything, but I'd sure like him on this team over Moeller and Castro.

Um, okay. First time I've heard that one. I'm not sure what makes "Eggs" easier to type than "Rays".

I've heard "Eggs" used. Think it has something to do with deviled eggs.

I lived in Tampa for a year and a half and never heard anyone refer to them as the "Eggs".

They are either referred to as "that team that I hope beats the Yankees tonight" or "that team that I hope beats the Red Sox tonight".

Ah - that might explain it, then.
I admit, I am rather unfamiliar with the name, as well.

Wow I thought the Eggs were a minor league team.

I thought it was because one of their jerseys, with the "devil ray," the circular, body part of the devil ray looked sort of like an egg.

Seabass? Eggs? C'mon, now I think we're just making stuff up. ;)

Devil Rays -> Deviled Eggs

It took me months to figure that out.

Never heard of "the Eggs".

I much prefer "The Lucifers", or perhaps "The Black Princes."

Even "The Beezelbubs" would be an improvement over "Eggs." This has ESPN smarminess written all over it...

Back to your original point, I agree 100%.

We discard Harris for nothing to retain Castro?

Castro came right up and just missed a HR for a double, but I know what you are saying :)

Oh well, they're changing their identity next year. Revamping the whole thing....except for the losing part, that will remain.

He went 1 for 3 with that homerun which was a oppo shot that barely cleared the fence. It easily could have been a double like Castro's. Let's compare numbers at the end of the season then go from there.
