He could be the first write-in to ever start! Voting has started on MLB.COM and you can vote 25 times...

Awesome.... Voting for the all star game starts 2 weeks into the season.... Not like things wont change over the next 3 months....

I hate MLB sometimes.

He has no chance of starting....so the vote is moot. If's he having a good season by the break, he will make the team anyway....as our only player.

They still have an all-star game? Who Knew?

This time it means nothing. :p:

I must have slept right through the year when it *did* mean something!

...I guess Matt Belisle will be starting for the NL, then?

Exactly.

Voting should be done by the players. If they wan't the fans involved, then have them vote for the HR derby participants.

I hated Garvey after that because he took a starting spot from Tony Perez.

I just voted 15 times...and think I'm going to go vote another 15 times...

I got stopped at 25 times.

"Starting now, fans can cast their votes for starters up to 25 times with the Monster 2007 All-Star Online Ballot here at MLB.com and all 30 club sites. Online balloting will continue until 11:59 p.m. ET on Thursday, June 28."

Just on principle, I object to fans stuffing the ballot boxes. (See Cincinnati Reds/1956, I believe.)

On top of that, whether or not you believe that Josh Hamilton will become an All-Star caliber performer this year, he hasn't really done anything to warrant an All-Star position over the length of his long, long 2 week major league career. As George Foster mentioned, if he earns a spot by the break, he'll be named by the manager.

Yeah....I hear by many announcers thru baseball to go out and vote for your favorite "team's" players. Yet they gripe later because of who is leading.
How many times have you heard a team's announcers say "come on out to the ballpark and vote.....for the people you think deserves to be an allstar"
