Honestly, I wouldn't be totally against it this year. EE's defense is fine at 3rd, but Edwin, Hamilton, Griffey, Freel, and Dunn all in the same lineup maximizes the potential.

It would be fine with me for a few months. But I want Joey Votto in the lineup by July.

Does that mean we're out of it by July?

Any team that claims it's a pitching a defense team can not play two people out of position at the corners just to get Hamilton's bat into the line up.

Freel as and everyday third basemen might set records for errors in a season, and I don't think EE is a learn on the fly sort of guy as first base is more than just catch balls thrown to you.

Freel isn't nearly as good at 3B as Edwin is.

Can we let Votto hit in AAA first ?
avg .174

EE is the best 3rd baseman on the team, his troubles this year are his bat.

He'll be fine.

He'll be fine.

Which normally happens when he focuses too much on defense.. Ask A-Rod.

We are what, 11 games in? He'll be fine too. Also, I haven't filled out his promotion slip yet either, just hoping he'll be here in July. It seems more likely to be when the 40 man expansion happens.

Didn't EE lead all MLB 3rd basemen in errors last year and only played about 2/3 of the season there?
Freel can play 3rd well enough to move EE to 1st base if thats what it will take to get them Both in the lineup, because right now it seems that Edwin may be the odd guy out here.

if we move edwin to 1st then we cant play hatteberg or conine, who are 2 good hitters. and people on here can make fun of narron's love for veterans all they want, but they both have hit the ball very well and give us a professional AB every time they bat.

I say we move Dunn to 3rd, EE to 1st, and Santa Claus to Easter.

Exactly. We're not talking about Todd Benzinger at 1B. These guys are too good to warrant juggling your defense. Leave EE at 3B

EE cut his errors in the 2nd half of the season even while playing more games then he did in the 1st.

Freel is pretty bad at 3rd.

If Dunn would play 1B, the problem solves itself.

If Freel is a potential fix at 3B, I don't understand why he can't play 2B. I realize Bonzo is a great SS, but I still don't understand why we couldn't see Phillips at SS, Freel at 2B, and EE at 3rd. That would leave the outfield for Dunn, Hobbs, and Griff. Of course, there are now $14 million reasons why this won't happen... but I'm just saying is all.
