Votto is in LF again today. I believe that is back to back days.

In any event, he's 1-1 with a double and a pair of RBIs.

Cueto once again, cannot stay consistant. I wonder if he is heading into headcase territory.

I think he's bored in Sarasota. He needs a challenge.

Good grief.

Simply stunning.

Good grief.

Simply stunning.

Why? Because Cueto hasn't been himself this entire season for a period of time? He holds his own against AAA hitters, throws a gem then regresses? I think it is possible he is dissappointed he didn't get promoted before the season began and thus is not focused. Whether you like it or not, he hasn't been the seed of professionality that Fisher has been.

Do we need an Aronchis vs. redszone argument in the minors updates everyday?

He looks at Reds prospects more negatively then most do. It happens. Move on.

I'm not sure if he a Reds fan or not. I've never heard him say a good thing about a Reds prospect.

I mean I'm not going to sit here and tell you I like or agree with everything he says either, but still.

Cueto has been awfully inconsitent this year.

I agree, he's been inconsistent. But I don't see the need to call him a headcase.

I am not trying to start any flame war with OBM, but he has really high feelings about these prospects and he tends to act out on them, I can respect that, but I am just telling the story from my POV.

I am not saying Cueto is throwing a fit, but considering how Homer was handled last year, he may feel he deserves to be in AA and has lost focus pitching in high A. Lets take this example: Johnny goes to AAA, a level he probably isn't ready for, holds his own and goes back to high A and throws a gem. My guess is, he expects to be promoted, but it doesn't happen and he loses focus then gets beat around his next start and his k's drop again.

I don't see that as a crazy possiblity, nor is it a fact. Just a possiblity.

Everybody has their own opinons. I don't think you're saying that stuff to try to start message board wars either.

People have differing opinons. It happens.

Cueto is a stud. That right there impressed me more than anything - alloweing three runs early on and then bouncing back to have a strong night. Very good performance by Johnny Cueto.

This may have been discussed before, and if it has I apologize, I am just wondering if others have wondered whether Votto's getting some PT in LF in case the Reds are planning on dealing Dunn. This would make logical sense, but would this, implicitly mean that Votto is not the first baseman of the future? Does that mean another year of a first base plattoon?

I was thinking the same thing. I really have a feeling that WK isn't a big Dunn fan. With JV playing left all of a sudden I am wondering if a Dunn trade hasn't been moved up to the front burner for some stirring.

It has been discussed before but the situtuation begs the question again. The bottomline is that the front office has a number of the minor leaguers play a secondary postion on a regular basis. They want guys to be a bit more versatile. I believe its so that they can be more valuable at the major league level and once they get there they'll be able to have more playing time. They're doing this with a number of guys, Votto, Bruce, Janish, Anderson; and there are probably others that I simply haven't noticed. I wouldn't read anything into it regarding who's the first baseman of the future or a pending trade of Adam Dunn. Its not nearly that cerebral.

And that's unfortunate. We all want to know exactly what Wayne is thinking, but at the same time we don't want to know, because us knowing would mean other GMs knowing, which would disadvantage him in trades. Only time will show if Wayne's plan is on the right track, but let's just hope he isn't trading Dunn out of spite and leaving a major hole in the lineup at first base. I really wish the Reds would hold onto Dunner unless they get equal value in a trade (IMO a good-hitting first baseman/outfielder or a top arm).

I've read where people say the Reds put different players in a different position once a week to get them a feel for a different positions. However, I don't think that is the case here.

A. I don't see other players throughtout the system playing different positions.
B. It seems as Votto plays LF more then once a week. I've been trying to find his 1B/LF starts, but have drawn a blank. It also seems as if he has been starting in LF more frequently as of late.
